Construction of Additional Second Line of Jinghe Alashankou Section of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway commenced

China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. announced that on November 30, the construction of the second additional line of Jinghe Alashankou Section of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway was started, further optimizing the functions of the railway network in the western border areas.

The Additional Second Line Project of Jinghe Alashankou Section of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway is located in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Autonomous Region. The line starts from Jinghe Station of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway, passes through Jinghe County, Bole City and Alashankou City, and connects to Alashankou Station, a national first-class port station. The total length is 70 kilometers, the design speed is 120 kilometers per hour, and it is a national railway Class I electrified railway. The construction period is 2 years.

The additional second line project of Jinghe Alashankou Section of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway will simultaneously reconstruct and expand four existing stations, namely, Jinghe Station, Mushutan Station, Bole East Station and Alashankou Station, build a new comprehensive inspection field for Alashankou Station, and transform the container reload field of the station. After the project is completed, it will form a double track railway with the existing single track railway, further improve the transport capacity of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge corridor, optimize the function of the railway network in the western border area, which is of great significance for effectively serving and supporting the construction of the bridgehead and the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt opening to the west, and promoting the quality and efficiency of China Europe trains.
